Sophie is thrilled to return to OBYG in her role as Camp Director for her fifth year. After attending OBYG as a camper, working her way up through roles such as Junior Counselor, Head Counselor, and Drama Director, it’s safe to say that many of her best memories have taken place at Windswept. Sophie is looking forward to introducing more camp traditions, programs, and trips in summer 2025, as well as honoring OBYG’s most cherished events like field day, weekly awards, ice cream socials, swim meets, the camp show, and more! Seeing smiles on campers faces is her favorite part of the job! In the winter, Sophie is an early childhood educator at PS 290 Manhattan New School.

This is Alysha’s ninth summer at OBYG and fifth summer as Assistant Director. Before becoming Assistant Director, Alysha was the director of the nursery room. During the school year, Alysha is a first grade teacher in West Islip School District. What Alysha loves most about OBYG is how dedicated the counselors and administration are to giving the campers the best summer ever! Alysha loves walking around Windswept and seeing how much fun the campers and counselors are having every day! She couldn’t imagine a better place to spend her summers!

This is Sam’s fifth season at OBYG! Sam is looking forward to getting to reunite with all of the amazing staff, campers, and families of OBYG, as well as meet all of the new comers. During the off season, Sam works as the ELA Chairperson at the West Babylon Junior High School and teaches special education. Sam’s favorite thing about camp last year was getting to do so many more activities with the campers, like boating and yoga! She also loved getting to attend so many field trips! She is looking forward to trying even more fun things this summer and being back in Ocean Beach full time with her puppy, Stanley Duke. If you see them walking around make sure to stop and say hello!
